Aluminium
Aluminium is everywhere in electronics: chassis, heat sinks, frames and casings. A spinning magnetic field throws it clear of everything else, and remelting it takes a fraction of the energy needed to make new metal.
01 · In
Heat sinks, frames & chassis
Sorted by alloy family: cast, extruded and sheet.
02 · Shredded
Broken into fragments
Each fragment ends up mostly one material.
03 · Separated
Steel out, aluminium thrown clear
Magnets lift steel; an eddy-current rotor throws aluminium off the belt.
04 · Out
Clean aluminium for remelting
Up to 95% less energy than making it from bauxite.
Step by step
From what arrives
to what leaves
- 01
Hand removal & alloy sorting
Large aluminium parts are removed by hand and sorted into cast, extruded and sheet aluminium.
- Equipment
- Dismantling benches
- Principle
- Different alloy families are remelted separately.
- Output
- Sorted aluminium + mixed residue
- 02
Shredding
Mixed assemblies are shredded so the metals come apart.
- Equipment
- Shredder
- Principle
- Liberation: each fragment ends up mostly one material.
- Output
- Shredded fragments
- 03
Magnetic separation
Overhead magnets lift out steel and iron.
- Equipment
- Overband / drum magnets
- Principle
- Steel is ferromagnetic; aluminium is not.
- Output
- Steel + non-ferrous stream
- 04
Eddy-current separation
A fast-spinning magnetic rotor induces currents in the aluminium, which push it off the end of the belt.
- Equipment
- Eddy-current separator
- Principle
- Induced currents create a repelling magnetic force in conductive metals.
- Output
- Aluminium + non-metals
- 05
Sensor sorting
Where purity demands it, sensors identify and separate alloys or stray metals.
- Equipment
- XRF / sensor sorting (where required)
- Principle
- Each alloy has its own chemical fingerprint.
- Output
- Higher-purity aluminium
- 06
Baling & dispatch
Clean aluminium is baled, weighed and sent to secondary smelters to be remelted into ingots.
- Equipment
- Baler, weighbridge
- Principle
- Remelting needs up to 95% less energy than making aluminium from bauxite.
- Output
- Aluminium bales

Safety first
No burning. No acid baths. No shortcuts.
Informal recycling burns cables and dissolves boards in open acid, harming workers and neighbourhoods and wasting most of the metal. Every stage here is mechanical, controlled or done by certified refiners, and every load is weighed and documented.
